RA President Armen Sargsyan signed the law "On Making Amendments and Addenda to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia."

The Law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia was submitted to the President of the Republic for signing in 2020. on June 26.

According to the presidential press service, the President's Office has thoroughly studied the law and its possible socio-economic impact, as well as the views of the professional community and the public on the law, as well as the mass media.

The President of the Republic had discussions on the Law with the representatives of the professional community - lawyers, financiers and economists.

The President of the Republic is aware of the justifications of the Government and the National Assembly on the Law. While adopting them, as well as considering the impact of the Law on the socio-economic situation of the society, the President of the Republic considers that the adoption of the law is premature. Even if the law is not immediately enforced, the moral and psychological consequences of the coronavirus epidemic will continue to be felt for a long time to come.

According to various estimates, the economic downturn and the declining income situation could lead to an increase in the tax burden on citizens. Pensioners, large families, single parents, heirs who have inherited or donated property but have no income at present, real estate mortgage owners and others can be particularly affected.
